What We Do

What Our Mulching Service Covers in New Jersey

Mulch is doing more work than it looks like. It holds water in the soil, keeps the ground temperature steady and blocks the light weeds need to start. The color is the last thing it does. Thin mulch skips all of it and just looks fresh for a month.

Depth is where most beds go wrong. Too thin and weeds push straight through, too deep and the roots suffocate under it. The crew sets depth by bed and pulls old material back first. Edges get cut before the mulch.

Our Services

Mulching Services We Handle in New Jersey

Five ways the same material gets used. Book a full install, a seasonal refresh, or fold the beds into a maintenance plan.

01

Mulch Installation in New Jersey

Fresh mulch laid into beds that have never had it or have gone bare. Beds get edged and cleared first, then the material goes down at an even, consistent depth.

02

Mulch Replacement in New Jersey

Old mulch breaks down, mats together and turns gray by the second season. The tired layer gets pulled or turned, then topped with fresh material that reads clean once again.

03

Landscape Bed Mulching in New Jersey

Shrub borders, foundation beds and island plantings get covered on the same visit. Mulch runs to the edge line and stops clean, without spilling onto the grass or the walkway.

04

Garden Bed Mulching in New Jersey

Vegetable and flower beds get a lighter hand, since roots sit close to the surface. Mulch goes around plants, not over them, so the stems stay open to the air.

05

Seasonal Mulching in New Jersey

One refresh a year keeps the beds from sliding backward. Spring is the usual window, right after cleanup, so the mulch lands on cleared soil instead of last year's mess.

FAQ

Mulch Questions We Hear in New Jersey

Once a year in most beds, usually in spring. If the layer still has color and depth, we top it lightly instead of stripping it. Piling fresh mulch on old every year is how beds end up way too deep.

Two to three inches does the job in most beds. Thinner than that and weeds punch through by midsummer. Thicker and water has trouble reaching the roots, which is worse than having no mulch at all. Depth varies by bed.

Depends what's under there. If the old layer is thin and broken down, we turn it and top it. If it's matted, sour or already three inches deep, it comes out before anything new goes down. You'll hear which one.

Whatever fits the beds and the look you want. Hardwood holds longest, dyed mulch keeps color longer, and pine works well in acid loving plants. Tell us the preference and it comes with the quote. The material is listed there.

It cuts them way down, it doesn't erase them. Seeds blow in and root on top of the layer no matter what. What mulch stops is the ones already in the soil waiting on light. Pulling a few is normal.

Right after the spring cleanup, once the beds are cleared and the soil has warmed. Mulching over cold, wet ground traps the cold in. Fall mulching works too, mostly to protect roots over winter. We usually pair it with cleanup.
